In this paper, improved poly-reference frequency-domain estimators will be presented for application in the field of flutter analysis. Flight flutter measurements are heavily contaminated by noise. To adequately handle such data, a stochastic approach, which takes the noise information into account, is required. Starting from the deterministic PolyMAX estimator (i.e., a poly-reference frequency-domain least-squares estimator), stochastic poly-reference frequency-domain estimators will be derived. The performance of these estimators will be evaluated by means of ground vibration test data (FRF measurements) as well as flight flutter data (output-only measurements).
