Abstract

An overview of biomedical applications of nonlinear system identification is presented, describing the challenges and requirements that are common to many such studies. Applications in the study of biomechanics are presented in detail. The experiments used to construct models of joint dynamics are described, and the requirements for the system models and identification techniques are listed. A brief summary of the models and identification methods is presented.
